The first one, that is, as I never saw Chamber of Secrets.
I mean I couldn't believe that Roeper talks about how wide-eyed Frodo was, and complaining about how many things he encounters, while praising Harry Potter.
That movie was shorter than LOTR:FOTR, yet I felt that it was longer. Sure it may have resolved better (but I mean I don't think you can take FOTR out of context to give it proper critical analysis, as it is a trilogy) than FOTR, but I found that I was ready for Harry Potter to end at least an hour and a half into the movie. Perhaps thats because I haven't read the books, but it just didn't interest me.
My thoughts are that in a book the main climax would have been clear, while the secondary climaxes happened. But for me the movie seemed to be an endless string of climaxes, none of which were that exciting, and the over arching story/climax was rather difficult to find.
