Brian,

This is going to sound very odd, and I'll prob. be banned from the message board for even thinking it. Here goes:

We met briefly at Stash Bash 2, I wore the chapeau, grey sweatshirt, and had the beard/van dyke goatee. (If you still can't remember me, I had our conversation taped, and I was after the gents who had you sign their > plastic bag.) We spoke about Clerks, and how you got the role, etc. I don't expect you to remember me, that was all just set up.

The real question is in this paragraph. I was struck by your characters that you play, in that they are all honest and kind deep down. In the seven minutes we spoke, I found that you are much like those you play; a genuine person. Not jaded or superficial. Anyway, I noticed a bunch of the posters want to see you in other roles. I was wondering, what it would take (money, contracts, scouts honor that I'm not a psycho) for you to consider a role in a movie I'm writing.

At this point you are either rolling your eyes, or speed dialing Ming to get me arrested, right? I don't blame you. Even if you remember me, we met for all of what, ten minutes? I must be out of my mind. I figured though, you seem like a nice person in real life, and you helped Kevin become famous (While it was mostly his writing, you sold the performance. [in my mind anyway]), so why not give it a shot. Ironically enough, I had a Hell of a time trying to contact you, it never occurred to me, though I am an avid guest at the VA website, that you post.

If you are still reading, and haven't called the cops yet, let me try to sell my script to you. You don't know me, nor do I expect you to, but it is a very personal exposition. It is basically about prejudice and friendship, through the eyes of an orthodox Jewish high schooler. It is more drama than comedy, though it has its moments, and you (or anyone for that matter) would have to read it before "getting it"

I'm not asking you to say "yes" now or here, but rather, agree to read it, or meet somewhere (I dunno, cafe or something). (I know, I know, big red flags are probably shooting up right now. If you can trust my word, I'm not a psycho, I just want my movie made, to try and get my message out, and all that sappy stuff. [and yes, I want my slice of the American dream]). I live in PA, 2.5 hours from J&SB Secret Stash.

After reading this back to myself, If I were in your position, I would think I am a weirdo too. If you want me to send anything to your agent instead of you, that is fine. I want to do this properly, and not come off as a fool. If it adds validity to my case, I wrote the script myself, but X2 screenwriter Dan Harris (my doctor's son, coincidentally enough) has offered to look over it.

The role, assuming you express intrest, is the main character's father; an honest and strong man, with an undertone of insecurity. I don't want to say I wrote it with you in mind, but I think you can help sell the role. if your only reservation is compensation, give me a figure, and I will find a way to procure it. If you have a suggestion of how I could get the ball rolling (not even in the yes direction, just any direction), please, let me know. I know it sounds very shady at this point, but I am serious and honest with my intentions.

For whatever odd reason, if you want to contact me outside of the board, my email address is Bboy829@aol.com. (I also welcome the onslaught of fans who will accost me for breaking the "fan/celebrity" trust barrier.)

Many Thanks for at least doing me the honor of reading this, I know I am vague, but I also know how touchy the subject of sending out scripts is, and the last thing I would want to do is put you in a bad position. Many Thanks,

Bryan Ghingold
