IN Return of the Living Dead; it is implied that the government created a biological weapon that raised it's soldiers from the Dead, only one problem; they went ape shit and started eating people. Plus they are the undead; neither living nor dead; so i imagine they are pretty pissed off; and they have one drive; they need to feed the hungry of not being alive nor dead drives them insane.
