It's beautiful and tranquil.
Then drive out to PCH and go south a couple of miles to Santa Monica. Shop on the promenade and have dinner nearby. There are tons of great restaurants, including one of my favorites: a great English pub (Ye Olde Kings Head) on the corner of 2nd St and Santa Monica Blvd.
