So after doing my taxes this past Monday, I'm ready to buy my first laptop. I'd done a lot of research over the past couple months and I kept coming back to the Sony VAIO FRV27, but now that I'm ready to buy, it's been discontinued and is difficult to find. I went to Best Buy yesterday and the rep there said that the Sony VAIO K15 is pretty much the replacement. Now, I see that the K15 has a slightly faster processor and a 33% larger hard drive, plus it's a little lighter than the FRV27, but it still seems like a pretty sweet machine. The unit just came out within the last fortnight and so I can't find any product reviews on epinions.com. If anyone who knows a lot about computers could check out the FRV27 and the K15 and let me know if the FRV27 had anything the K15 doesn't, that would be wonderful. Right now the only downside to this laptop that I can find is the battery life, but since I'm going to be using it where there's an outlet about 99% of the time, that's not my biggest concern and I can sacrifice the shorter battery life.

I'm sure many people will want to reply to this by saying not to buy Sony, but in the past few months I've found someone to say something negative about pretty much everything that's out there, so that's not really what I'm looking for right now. I'm set on getting a VAIO at this point, and just want to see if I'm missing anything negative on this new model.

thanks,
Adam
