In almost all the incarnations, the Hornet's not a superbuff motherfucker... he's a solid street fighter who gets the job done mainly through gas guns and stun guns and flat-out intimidation. Kato's the one who does all the badass physical shit.
Analogy:
Kato's an action hero like Wolverine, doing all the flips and chops.
Hornet's an action hero like Indiana Jones, the guy who in the face of all the flips and chops just shoots the guy and moves on.
You don't need Willie Mays Hayes for that shit.
