I have a good friend who was just rejected from every school she applied to, exluding one that was a "safety net". she has no desire to go to that school and has just been misserable in the last few days. i feel really bad for her. shes so friendly and nice as well as smart. she had a 3.9 GPA and took many advanced courses, but apparently something didnt work out and she was rejected from i think 5 schools.

I feel terrible for her. I really thought she was going to get into UCSB, but guess not. she is going to appeal.

anyway, I was thinking about asking her to a movie (Jersey girl) and maybe dinner. I think it would be sorta nice of me to do, considering she must feel like crap now.

I was raised rather old fashioned, so i feel this is a really nice gesture of me to ask. I do hope she doesn't take it the wrong way and think its a date or that i want to go out with her. Its alright for guys to take girls out for dinner and a movie and soley just be friends right?

It doesn't really matter at all whats "alright" as long as you are comfortable with it, but i just dont want to send her mixed signals.
