It's 'cool' to not like "The Simpsons" these days. Or people are just so critical that since any new episode is not as good as the funniest one, it must mean it sucks.
It could just be that a lot of 'youngens' were so young when it first came out over 10 yrs. back that they're not used to the way it developed.
The show may not be as funny as its funniest season, but it doesn't mean it sucks. It's still one of the best shows on TV.
