I used to have a friend (read big sister) who had an impact nearly as large as that child (in my eyes anyways).
She died in a car accident, and there was a makeshift memorial set up the night of the accident in a small park right by her house. Lots of candles with friends and family.
In fact I don't remember much of Field of Dreams, so I doubt highly that it will take anything away from it for me.
