......going for is that "Constantine" is its own thing, independent of the comic book - basically, as if it's an original story that the screenwriters came up with all by their lonesome. I doubt there will be any cameos from DC characters because of their need for the film to appeal to consumers beyond just the fans - they don't want to alienate anyone by making this look like "just another comic book movie".
