Palms would probably be fun, if that's the experience you want then just go and don't worry about the price.

But since you're asking:

Luxor is cool both inside and out. The Egyptian theme is very well done and the view from the rooms is nice. It's also close to both Excalibur, for shows (the King Arthur show is VERY cool) and Mandalay Bay for high quality buffets. Although, for my money, nothing beats the Mirage buffet.

Luxor also has a not-to-be-missed reproduction of King Tut's tomb. This is as close as it can get to real, using the pretty much unlimited resources of Vegas casinos. Beyond cool. It's worth taking an hour on Sunday morning to do this before going out.

For cheap, I always like the Vegas Hilton off the strip - near the convention center. They also have the Star Trek Experience and you can usually get a package with comped tickets along with your stay.

Anyway, that's my two cents - have fun!

John
