As big of a Kevin Smith fan as I am, this is the first time I've sat down and actually read the message boards. Usually I dont concern myself with the remblings of those that annoy me, but today I was feeling festive.
I dont understand why the hell people fell the need to bash the art of another person. If you dont like what Kevin does, shut your fuckin pie hole and dont pay attention. No one is forcing you to watch his movies, or read articles about him. You are doing that all on your own, and then you have the gall to come on HIS message board and bitch him out? What the fuck?
Granted there are more people on this board who are fans on what Kevin does...and I'm sure there isnt a day that goes by that Kevin doesnt thank the good lord for us, and our money. But it's the little whiney twits that set me off. Like Kevin is under some sort of obligation to any of us because of what he has said and done in his movies. Riiiiight. Like I believe Woody's obligation to me is to make some blasted chick flick and then come date my daughter.
Personally I salute Kevin for everything he's done as far as his movies...most of them go far unnoticed in my opinion. But this doesnt mean that I expect Kevin to be of a certain nature. If that was the way the world worked, I would have thought Ben was a homo after Gigli. Movies, and the actors who are in them, do not define what kind of person they are. This stands true for writers, directors...so on and so on.
So in the end...It's just a fuckin movie...laugh at it and move on.
