Weinstein clearly goes to bat for up and coming people... and sometimes, you've gotta be really fucking harsh to open up the door for people.
There's probably a whole lot of people in Hollywood, executives who don't "rock the boat" and come off as really agreeable... wandering around Santa Monica, greenlighting shitty romantic comedies starring some combination of Meg Ryan, Tom Hanks, Richard Gere and Julia Roberts until the sun extingushes itself into the sea...
But if you're gonna stand by your principles and put interesting stuff and new creators out there, maybe you have to be a little pushy.
I consider that awesome.
