But then directors have to use the material they're given. I hear Jan De Bont's Tom b Raider 2 was disappointing. Given the first one wasn't Gone With The Wind, you really do have to wonder.

: When they peter out like this, making Hollywood pap, THEN it's really sad. When they peter out because their creative vision doesn't fit society's expectations, well, I suppose it's still sad, but in a completely different, and more respectable way.
