Personally, I can tell this: Chasing Amy was my favorite of Kevin's films, and when I saw the preview for that, it looked totally different than Mallrats. I thought to myself "Okay, he's going in a wierd new direction" and he did. I learned my lesson then in ever trying to set up expectations for a KS film to be anything except fulfilling. Like a mento. The freshmaker.
Though, I agree with your first point - it does look like a cute movie :)
