It was in 1988, and I was 12, but I did it. I'm significantly less obsessed with them, these days, but I still love 'em, deep down. But I haven't come to see them the last few times they've toured in the area. I saw them in 89, that was good enough for me.
I'm afraid you're going to have to hit Toledo without me, Elfy, sweetie. I hardly have the money to get to Manhattan, much less Ohio.
Besides, other than Davy, and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland (which I've been to, in 1995, and it's unassailably cool... but why the fuck is it in Cleveland, again?)... what reason is there to go to Ohio? I've been there, I know whereof I speak. ;-)
Anyway, Micky's my favorite Monkee. Though at the time of the 1988 autograph signing, it was Davy. Then I realized that at 12, I was taller than he was, and that was kinda scary. Also, drugs and alcohol had taken their toll - he wasn't very cute anymore. And he had the WORST mullet.
