As my disertation topic I'm writing on "Is Kevin Smith an independent filmmaker?". Any thoughts, comments, something interesting rather than just 'of course he is!'.
And also does anyone know how Dogma and J + SB and the forthcoming Jersey Girl were financed. Did Miramax put up the money and their own producers or did they leave Kevin to get along with it? ALternatively did Kevin do all the principal photography out of his own pocket (I'm thinking not with budgets of $9.8m, $22m, $35m respectively).
