Whatever you save on your computer goes on your hard drive. You have 2 basic types of memory - RAM & ROM.
RAM = Random Access Memory & ROM = Read-Only Memory.
Your hard drive is basically ROM. If you replace that, whatever was saved goes bye-bye.
I'd suggest updating/reinstalling your drivers for your mouse first.
