It's Lucas's intellectual property to do with as he chooses.
Our role would simply be to simply vote with our dollars.
Frankly, I'd be too curious than to not see them at a second-run or something but... if you are a huge fan of the three original films, just don't go to the other ones. Don't buy merchandise from the other ones. Don't wait in four-week lines.
I just keep my memories and my VCR tapes of the original cuts of the first three and... if I don't like the new ones?
I pretend they're a different series of movies.
