i remember reading (back when ROTJ was released) that lucas has always had 9 parts in mind.
the mistake he's made with the PREquels, is directing them himself.
like the original 3, lucas should've had someone else direct. hopefully (if the franchise survives) he'll do that for episodes 7,8,&9.
