Saw AUDITION and KATAKURIS. AUDITION was good, though it had some images you've no doubt already read about that are tough to get out of your head after you've seen them. KATAKURIS is just flat out one of the strangest movies I've ever seen, a musical comedy about a family trying to make a go of their bed and breakfast, but their guests keep dying on them. Oh, and since things aren't weird enough, there's occasional animation, too. Worth a view, but maybe you want to rent first?
ICHI THE KILLER is the one fans always point to as the acid test for Miike fans, but I can't offer an opinion. I'm frightened of it.
