In 1991 I got my parents a plastic snowman lawn ornament to replace the one that was stolen a few years ago.

A big ham dinner. And that usually includes side dishes I hate, like beans and potato salad.

Lessee... in 1995, I lost my job at the beginning of December. In 2000, my last remaining grandparent died, AND I broke up with my girlfriend.

Through the years, it was mostly video game systems my friends got but my parents could never afford. (Exception: I got a Commodore 64 in 1983.) I mostly bought my own game systems after that.

I'm usually doing my shopping in mid-December.
