I was a 10th grade high school science teacher. It was the day before Thanksgiving break started, so I thought I'd let the kids have some fun, so I brought in an episode I had on DVD. It was the Thanksgiving day episode where the turkeys turn into a herd of killer beasts.
Anyways, I did not realize how full of hypocritical left-wing extremists we had as parents for the students at our school. A bunch complained when they heard through the grapevine that I had played the R RATED SOUTH PARK MOVIE in my classroom. The principal didn't care what the truth was, he was going to do anything to please the parents.
So, the end of the year comes, and he calls me into a meeting. He tells me there just aren't enough students in the following year to keep me on as a teacher. A few weeks after the next schoolyear begins, a bunch of my old students emailed me to tell me about the guy they hired to replace me, and how much he SUCKED as a teacher. HA!
Anyways, losing that job was the best thing that happened to me - now, instead of making half of what that principal makes, in a few short years I will be making TWICE his salary!
I developed such a bad temper working with those kids - it was a heavily poverty-stricken twon, so the kids had no interest in school. And there was a HUGE drug problem, as well as stolen property. The politics involved with education are just too much of a pain in the ass for me. I now have a stress-free job and am loving it!
