Recently, the Temporary Coomission for Lobbying has decided to press charges and possibly fine the NY Yankees $100,000 for giving free tickets to the mayor, chief of police and chielf of the Fire Department. They claim this is lobbying because the Yankees didn't give the commission a list of their free ticket procedures. To me it just seems like appreciation.
But, my question is this:
Does everyone in the entertainment industry have to acknowledge why they are giving away free tickets or items if it's to an elected official?
