Pesonally, I agree that Kevin is one of the five most important directors of the past decade. But give some more credit to Jackson. He works almost 24/7 to direct the actors, help solve production problems, and make sure everything is set up right. He puts a great deal of effort into the films because he cares about them a great deal. Sure, he's been given a top-notch budget and a lot to work with, but that doesn't mean he just points a finger, says "go", and everything starts rolling along with him standing by watching. He works hard to put out a masterpiece (THREE masterpieces, in fact) of cinema glory. And while I must say that he isn't the only one working hard on the films (in fact, every single person involved in the project has probably put more into it than they have into anything else in their entire lives), Peter Jackson deserves a good bit of credit for what he does.
