The last 2 comedies that I recall seeing most recent was Bruce Almighty and Anger management, which also had Jack Nicholson in it, I too loved the shining. I didn't quite like the remake, as did Stephen King, but loved the original. The book wasn't too bad either. I just honestly feel that Stephen King's books never quite playout as good as his books.

Another writer I love is Dean Koontz. He is a very prolific writer. Not to mention if you like Stephen King then you might like Dean Koontz.

Me, I like to think I'm pretty open. I love a broad range of comedy, and classics from other genres (Horror wise my fave is The Shining). Oh, and I'm trying to get into world cinema. For my birthday I watched City of God, I saw Goodbye Lenin with my Dad over the summer and me and my mate Ryan have recently had a few nights of Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke).
: in short, I'm open to all kinds.
: : O.K. Thanks for clearing that up. I am sure someone will start the flaming wars, I just figured me suffering from sleep deprivation, now wouldn't be a good time. Later maybe, now not a good time! So you're a film writer? Hmmm! So what kind of films do you like and have written about? If of course, you don't mind me asking. Personally, the only ones that come to mind that I liked are Sweet Home Alabama, I love that movie, Christina's House, Most horror flicks. I can't think of any others. Sleep deprivation does that to me.

: : Sorry, I don't always fully explain myself. I write film reviews myself, and having read a lot of them (esp. net critics with their own sites!), I've learned reading between the lines helps.
: : : Me personally I always read the reviews of sites/papers with similar opinions to me. And not to start a flame war with anyone here, but I dislike the following:

: : : 1. "If you like..." Lazy.
: : : 2. Grading out of four stars, or half stars. half stars especially.
: : : 3. Tabloid newspaper reviews. You can always tell who paid them off.
: : : 4. Over-reaction (eg Use of excessive exclamation marks, "this sucks/rules/ dog doo metaphors for either or)
: : : 5. Anyone who defends the Hulk by saying the audience "didn't get it".

: : : Sorry, personal rant over.
: : : : Umm, if you were referring to me, I never said anything good or bad about Jersey girl, I was just letting everyone know what others were saying. I for one, think it is just downright rude. Not to mention uncalled for. I understand everyone is entitled totheir own opinion, but isn't this going a little too far?

: : : :
: : : : : It's like that board member that said David Beckham was playing badly when they sold him.
: : : : : : Has anyone been to rottentomatoes.com? That's a shame, that they have so many bad things to say about Jersey girl! I for one, couldn't make it to the Stash bash 2 where Kevin showed a few spoiler clips or what not. From my understanding on this board it looks good. The only thing I read on rottentomatoes.com forum was that it was so abhorrent that it could almost be categorized as child pornography!

: : : : : : Not to mention that the acting was so bad, that Jersey Girl Quote Unquote should be called Gigli part 2.
: : : : : : That is way below the belt to say something like that about another's film! Just an FYI. If any of you are interested in the link it is at:
