here's the MAIN part... the main character (laura harris).. is a wanna-be actress, but her girlfriend beat her out for a part.. pretty much everything before the blue box is her dream.. most of the stuff after that is her REAL life, and shows a lot of where she got the stuff that was in her dream.
i.e., in her dream, she wants to believe that the only way she could've gotten beat out is if it were some kind of mob conspiracy.
also.. in real life she was so mad about the blond chick marrying the director that she paid for her to be killed.
this is a jumbled explanation, but that first paragraph is the gist of it.. once you watch the movie with that in mind, it becomes a lot clearer.
i think the guy behind the dumpster represents jealousy or someting.
it's a good movie.
plus it has some hot lesbo action in it.
