: Can someone explain to me why Affleck is considered such an asset to ANY project. Any actor with any self respect would not do a movie like Gigli. He is the same character in every movie. Don't you have to "get into character", don't you "play the part"? I didn't think that it was,
: "Here just read this the best you can.". Everytime I see him its the same lack of quality that makes me wonder why. Why directors use him. I could act better with one lip. I know HollyWood is hard-up for good leading male actors. And, I apologize Kevin, your movies generally rock and I know you started his career, you guys are buddies, and he is in your new movie, but it may seem to some, that you are maybe trying to cash in on his popularity by making a movie like "Jersey Girl", I can sort of understand I guess after Chasing Amy. But, I would rather watch Vin Diesel pretend he can act than sit through anything at all with Affleck in it.
*On the subject of Ben Affleck I tend to agree with you - on most points. I enjoyed both his and Matt's performance in Good Will Hunting and Dogma - them as fallen Angels trying to get back into Heaven hence negating God I thought and still thinks was a stroke of genius! But then again Ben ossilates (is that even a fockin word?) - I mean the character he plays seems to either be a poor Bostonian shlub (he does this well) and a muscled action guy (he needs some help on this one however). I have to say that I am looking forward to seeing his acting-chops in the future just to see if the guy can grow beyond what he's thus far played.
*But and a big But - Matt rocked in Rounders, he held his own next to Malkovitch and that takes balls and talent, and I think that blonde wonderboy has both :)
