: Someone above thought Duddits was alien.
: Does the book reflect that idea?

: Do you agree?

In the book, Duddits isn't an alien at all. I liked it better that way. He was just extremely gifted and died of natural causes (the leukemia). The way Mr. Gray is killed is different in the book.

Hmm...in the movie he had to have been an alien all along, if for no other reason than when they found Josie he already knew about Mr. Gray.

little Henry: Duddits, we gotta save this girl?
little Duds: Ave is irld?
little Henry: Not the world, Duds; a girl. Save the world some other time.
little Duds: Ister Gay?

Henry thought he said "mystery", but he said "Mr. Gray". So...he knew something was coming one day. It was a cool spin to put on the movie and I would've liked it...but when they changed him into a full fledged alien creature, I thought that was going to a stupid length. Just my opinion.
