But then, I went to Stanton College Prep.

Whisky Rebellion (1794): In western Pennsylvania, a group of farmers refused to pay excise tax on their distilled corn, which they used to make whisky. Instead, they just attacked all of the revenue collectors. In response, President Washington put 15000 state militiamen under control of Alexander hamilton and sent them out to Pennsylvania to "straighten things out." Needless to say, all of the farmers either decided to make friends, or just left. It's impact was a welcome contrast to the ineffective ways of Shays' Rebellion and some criticism of an overexertion of force against the common people, most notably by Thomas Jefferson, who gained popularity through such criticism.
