The g4 I use for regular DV, and it works brilliantly, and the G5 I use with the Apple HD cinema display to edit HD footage, and it too works flawlessly. Apple included cinema tools with FCP 4, so if you ever decide to edit film, your G5 will be ready. For the money, a G5 and a powerful PC run at VERY close speeds, but as far as software, the G5 takes the cake with it's FCP and DVD studio software.
