I've read the summaries, and have gone through old boards, but I couldn't find this anywhere (probably because I tend to read too much into things and nobody ever even noticed the following, but who knows...).
I popped in Chasing Amy the other night and noticed something for the first time that I'm guessing is either subtle symbolism or just a coincidence. It seemed that after Holden suggested his plan to fix everything, Alyssa covered her eyes and Banky covered his mouth. Is this some kind of "see no evil", "speak no evil" reference? Seeing as how "hear no evil" is missing from the lineup, Holden's words causes them to hear the "evil" that ends their respective relationships.
I know, I know - it's a stretch. But hey, you never know...
