I'd rather have the killer of my child (god forbid) sent to life in prison right away where i know he'd stay and could never hurt another soul, than attend his appeal hearings for 15 plus years and again and again see pictures of the crime, give my testimony repeatedly as to why the monster should be killed..etc. I'd just want it all over with so I could get on with my life with my other child, and as my child would want. That is my opinion, though.
