Emo is poorly-written music about how "anti-social" (though they manage to have more friends than most) kids' parents won't let them stay out past ten o'clock, how they can't get a girlfriend, and how much the system sucks (even though it's through the system - specifically, their parents, who work for the system - that they get the money to pay for their $200 hoodies and T-Shirts with '80s punk band names and provocative sayings such as "Don't make me get my flying monkeys!" and "My flying squirrel of death spits on your mother!") accompanied by three power chords (the only ones their guitarists know) and all-too-heavy drumming.
