AAC files are *smaller* than MP3s, but CANNOT be played by "normal" CD players.

how the hell would a cd player manufactured 2 or 5 or 10 years ago know how to handle a
compression algorithm that is only a year old? they can't.

iTunes will burn an Audio CD of yr AAC files (and do it as many times as you want), but
that's about it...
