In 140 years, the theory of evolution has withstood countless assaults and not a single shred of evidence exists to discredit it whereas there is a mountain of evidence supporting it. You don't believe in evolution because you're megalomaniacal--you want to believe humans are special, that *you* are special--and without that belief your ego would wilt.
