I taught 9th grade English.
I actually liked the kids. It was the job itself that sucked ass. Too much other shit other than teaching involved. I had no life outside of that job. Also-parents are psycho. The one time I really freaked out was when this little girl cursed me out and I was actually being nice to her. I joked about her food (which she wasn't supposed to have in class) and she totally freaked. Boy oh boy-I freaked! I mean I actually SCREAMED at her. I kicked her out of class and she got suspended. My other kids joked with me and told me "Breath Ms. Shearill! Breath!" Which made me laugh and then we started class as normal. I was alsways pretty calm with the kids BUT I FUCKING HATED ATTITUDE! I would loose it in a second if I got attitude. My kids learned this fairly quickly and appreciated that I was pretty good to them. Which means I RARELY got any shit. I never had another problem with this girl and she actually passed my class much to everyone's surprise. She'd failed the class the year before and was on her way to failing this year but we got her turned around. I liked the kids; hated grading, parents, lesson plans, discipline problems and lunch duty.
