:: Has been my opinion for years. Don't even get me started on the fucking circus!!!

: They've owned those tigers for decades, and this is the first real "incident" that has occurred.
::The way I see it, they (the trainers) are very lucky this didn't happen sooner.

: And personally, I'm a sick bastard. I cherish things like that. My friends were all mad at me the other day because I was joking about it, and they didn't think it was a laughing matter. To me, what about the incident ISN’T funny? It's all such a huge cosmic karma joke.

::I will admit that I also saw humour in this. I mean, you make a wild animal do stupid "tricks" and expect it to be happy? Gimme a fucking break.

: See, I’m a firm believer in the "reap what you sow" philosophy; I have very little sympathy for people whose actions and decisions invite problems upon themselves.
:: I completely agree. Every person who works with wild animals knows the risk involved. You'd have to be an idiot to believe that your "bond" with a wild animal is stronger than its (the animal's) natural instincts.

: Furthermore, I have zero tolerance for people who insist on turning Mother Nature’s creations into sideshow circus attractions.
:Agreed.

: I also happen to think tigers are incapable of human domestication, with an instinctual job description that requires the killing of other animals. Consequently, much frailer animals probably shouldn’t keep them around.

: True story: It was in the paper a few weeks ago (either somewhere in Alberta or BC) someone owned one of those really large wild cats (they look kinda like miniature leopards) and it was stolen but got away from the thieves. So an alert was put out that this is a wild animal and WILL harm small children. No Fucking shit!!

: SO, when a captive tiger attacks and critically wounds its human handler, I don’t "feel bad for" that person in the least.
If I has someone making me jump through flaming hoops, I'd be pretty pissed too.

: If anything, I feel bad for that tiger... a beautiful, proud animal that has never experienced the essence of its intended being, in favor of an existence comprised of concrete floors, processed meat, and needless human contact. Sadly, that particular tiger is now in jeopardy of being unceremoniously killed, simply because it actually had the GALL to succumb to its predatory instincts and "become a danger" for perhaps intentionally slashing at the jugular.
:: Honeslty, did they expect nothing less? I would think that if they worked that closely with wild animals, they would also now enough about them to understand how unpredictable they can be.

: No shit? Tigers might be a danger to humans? Well, hell. Maybe Roy got mauled because... umm, IT’S A TIGER AND ROY SHOULD HAVE FUCKING KNOWN BETTER.
I couldn't have said it better myself

: And WOW. I apologize if someone read that entire rambling mess.
I read it all, and enjoyed it. Nice to know there are other people who see how stupid it is to make a show piece out of wild animals.
