It just kills me (no pun intended) that he's become such a huge star, just because he did the most cowardly thing it's humanly possible to do.
Personally, I think we're far better off with the Foo Fighters. Much better band, musically. But then, in my opinion, so were many of the other bands that came out at approximately the same time as Nirvana; Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam (OK, they've gone funny since, but at the time I'd say they kicked the butt off of Nirvana), Mother Love Bone, Soundgarden... All of them are/were far better than Nirvana.
Nirvana's hugeness was caused by two things: good timing, and suicide.
