I have to preface this by saying I HATED JACKIE BROWN when I first saw it.....and it took 24 hours for MAGNOLIA to sink in......and after I saw it again the nest day...it's one of my 20 fave movies of all time....
I just didn't think it was that good.....
And it's driving me crazy...as i know Smitty loved it...and I trust his opinion totally....
My thoughts....
I guess QT finally relented and saw NBK....cos it really seemed more like Oliver Stone directing a Tarantino script.....
The best part of any Tarantino film is of course the dialogue....and aside from the great Sonny Chiba scene.....there seemed to be something REALLY lacking in the way that all of the charachters interacted with eachother.....The high point of every other QT film.....
Brothers allowed to make any damn film he wants...and there were real moments of genius in KILL BILL.....The first 20 minutes is stunning.....That Vivica Fox stuff was wicked good.......I guess I just missed the interplay (That TRIX bull with Lucy Liu and Uma was tired!)
I'm gonna go see it again today.....
