Not that I think the record companies NEED so much more money, but given the fact that I had gotten used to paying for the stuff in my music collection, I never really got into the free downloads. Sure I did it, but not as the sole source for my music.

While I don't agree with the reasoning of the record companies, all they did was stop making something free that wasn't free in the first place.

But, I think Swingset brought up some interesting points with his post re: what we are doing when we purchase the music - and I haven't come to any conclusions.
