: What worries me is that Tarantino, altough a brilliant director, is quite self indulgent. I'll be impressed if this comes off, but it's a hard one to judge.
And seemingly hyper actice.
One thing we can cound on (I hope) is that the editing will be better than the last 4 movies I have seen. They are all using the "MTV jump cut" from scene to scene with no thought to tieing (sp?) them together at all. It's like good story telling comes secondary to unrelated gags, or shock value. For example, anyone see "Bulletproof monk"? That movie COULD HAVE been enjoyable, if they would have bothered to attempt having a natural flow from scene to scene. American Wedding also, jumped from Joke to joke, with no thought to any kind of flow (still very funny, but iut could have been better).
Is it just that I am getting old? Is the jump cut the wave of the future? Am I going to be relied on to 'fill in the blanks' in every scene in all future movies?
