It's interesting to read More's story just to know about English and Anglican Church history.

I don't think much IS really known about John Proctor as a historical person, other than that he owned a fair amount of property, had a couple of kids, and was hanged for alleged witchcraft. All the stuff about him possibly cheating on his wife, his motivations for not confessing, etc., is all speculation created by Arthur Miller for his play.
