And my brother woke me up when the first plane hit. I had interviewed across the street a few days before though - at some boiler room type of place. When my dad came home, he said he was never so thankful I was unemployed and hadn't taken the job.
My brother, uncle, and friends all worked down there though - so it was a day of just waiting to hear from them or even see them, which we did, eventually, thank god.
Whole thing was surreal, though. Still is. Haven't been down to the site yet. I don't know if that is disrespectful or not, but I just didn't think I'd be able to deal with it at first.
