Like any pet owner, they deserve to know what they are getting into.
I'm an animal person, don't get me wrong, but there are some situations where putting the pets down can't be avoided. An unpredictable biting pet is one of them. We gave our dog a million chances, but it got to the point that he was unsafe and a definite liability to have. I loved that dog a great deal, but it is not fair to subject any other people to the possibility of an attack.
