because it's the internet, and it's served with a healthy dose of seeming anonymity. it's precisely the same reason that people antagonize and blatantly threaten others whom they'd piss themesleves for looking askance at in real life. let me paraphrase, "it's the internet, stupid...there are no repercussions."
the next service pack for the net is supposed to include built-in filter for hubris, let's see if that helps at all.
