This Post is designed in hopes that Kevin Smith will read it. I am total fan just like millions of people are, and I am surely not going to say I am a #1 fan. However, his movie's have changed my life. I am a 16 year old from a suburban Town in Queens, NYC. Its a place called Rockaway that is very similar to suburban towns of New Jersey. Which is why Kevin's movies made a particular impact on my life on a personal note. I have seen every kevin smith movie and I rented "An Evening with Kevin Smith." which I had to eventually buy because the dvd I rented was scratched to hell. I believe in that Q&A flick. Kevin was very modest. I believe hismovies are very creative which is why he's the number 1 independent film director. His movies don't try to be Oscar Award Winning movies. Their funny and have messages. He connects with the audience which is what directing is about. Well his movie's changed my life because I started off writting. I wanted to be a writer and when I started watching Kevin Smith movies. I was like wow I have to direct I have to make my stories visual. I have to get people to see my percpective. I believe I have fresh and new ideas which I won;t tell many people about because me and my brother, (who also write's) feel that our homes are tapped by cheesy hollywood writters who make films that seem like cheesy rendition's of our ideas. Thus, I keep my stuff to myself. My stuff wouldn't be nearly as witty and clever as Kevin's, but they are unlikewhat hollywood would make. And my dream is to be successful and maybe make a film with Miramax. And one day I would love to meet Kevin Smith and just be able to tell the man in person how much his movies mean to me. In mymind Kevin Smith is the best director in indie and mainstream hollywood film in general. And my views tend to be very similar to his, and so much I would love to meet him. I would love kevin to see a film of mine and critic it. However, there is one view of Kevin's I don't agree with. He said he gave himself the character of Silent Bob, because he can't act. But my whole view is that a director must be able to act to some extent. Which is why to some extent I think Kevin is just being very modest again. I started acting in my sophmore year of highschool (this past year) and Ibelieve I have perfected Acting at least within myslef enough that now I can direct. I think it essential to directing. I believ the three trades I like the most is Directing/Acting/and Writting. Kevin my question is, is there any possible way I could meet you? Is there any possible way I could meet you? this is probably a common question, and I don't want to sound like a cheesy fan but everything I just said is the truth. And theres no other question I canask on an Internet Message Relay Board. And I also don;t want to sound like an obsessed and deranged fan, LOL. But being able to converse with you on a personal notable level would mean a deal to me.
