I remember Kids came out when I was a junior in high school, and I think it was seen by the entire student body at one point or another, despite the fact that it was NC-17. Although the general agreement was that it was unrealistic. As it was based in New York City, and we all were NYC inhabitants - so, on some level we could relate to what was depicted, but on the other hand - we did hope that people who weren't from around the area used that as their basis for teens because it wasn't true for everyone, more like a small percentage were similar to the kids depicted in the movie.

I don't know though, I mean the younger teens now are sort of "older" now than they were when I was that age. I don't think I was nearly as desensitized to the crap that they are now.

Sort of sad, really.
