Getting an agent is only part of the struggle - you'll need to get into the Guild - membership requirements are pretty rigorous! (It's OK for me - I'm in the UK version and we're not so fussy!)
Anyway - I've been trying to get a US agent for a while - it's not so easy... But I haven't been devoting my full attention to that problem yet due to other committments.
