A film starring Will Smith directed by Kevin Smith would never, ever be boycotted. If Kevin Smith himself can't convince the studio to cast Jason Lee, then I highly doubt a bunch of internet dorks can.
And you must also remember, the Weinstein's aren't saying anything negative about Lee's acting ability. They're just making a business decision trying to make the most cash from the flick that's possible.
Lee would make a fantastic Fletch. But I'm sure Sandler would too. So would Affleck. Well, anyone except Fallon. Personally, I don't like that guy.
